Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 10+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 for New Hires Only
  • Referral bonuses up to $5,000 for critical hires are available to employees
  • A Relocation package may be available for this position

This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled RF Test Engineer to join our Tactical Radio team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the testing and validation of radio frequency (RF) components and systems, ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards. This position requires a strong background in RF engineering, testing methodologies, and a keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans and procedures for RF components and systems.
  • Perform RF measurements, including power, frequency, modulation, and distortion, using specialized test equipment.
  • Analyze test data to identify issues, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with design and development teams to provide feedback and recommendations based on test results.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve RF-related problems in prototypes and production units.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of test results, methodologies, and equipment configurations.
  • Support the development of automated test systems and processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in RF testing technology.

  • Strong understanding of military communication protocols, frequency allocation, and secure communications.
  • Experience in RF testing or related roles.
  • Experience with software-defined radio (SDR) technologies.
  • Proficiency in design and simulation tools for RF and communication systems (e.g., MATLAB, RF Toolbox).
