Lipscomb Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Trap Coach to lead and develop our trap shooting teams for both high school and middle school students. This role involves teaching the fundamentals of trap shooting, ensuring safety, and fostering a positive and competitive environment consistent with our Christian values.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

1. Instruction and Coaching:
- Teach and demonstrate trap shooting techniques, including stance, grip, swing, and follow-through.
- Develop and implement practice drills, strategies, and training programs tailored to both high school and middle school athletes.
- Provide one-on-one and group coaching to enhance individual and team performance.

2. Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all safety protocols are strictly followed during practices and competitions.
- Conduct regular safety briefings and equipment checks to maintain a secure shooting environment.
- Adhere to all school and sporting regulations and guidelines.

3. Athlete Development:
- Assess and monitor athletes' progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that aligns with the school's Christian values.
- Help athletes set and achieve personal and team goals.

4. Competition Preparation:
- Organize and oversee practices leading up to competitions, ensuring athletes are prepared both physically and mentally.
- Assist with the planning and coordination of competition schedules, travel, and logistics.

5. Mentorship and Support:
- Serve as a mentor and role model, promoting Christian principles such as integrity, respect, and sportsmanship.
- Provide emotional support and motivation to athletes, helping them manage stress and build confidence.

6. Communication:
- Maintain open and effective communication with athletes, parents, and school administration.
- Provide regular updates on team progress, upcoming events, and any relevant information.

7. Program Development:
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the trap shooting program.
- Stay current with best practices in trap shooting and incorporate new techniques and ideas as appropriate.

8. Administrative Duties:
- Keep accurate records of practice sessions, performance metrics, and athlete attendance.
- Assist in organizing and managing fundraising activities and community outreach events.

Qualifications for this head coach position:
- Proven experience in coaching trap shooting or a related field, preferably at the high school or middle school level.
- Strong knowledge of trap shooting techniques, safety protocols, and competition rules.
- Ability to effectively communicate and connect with students, parents, and staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to Christian values and the ability to incorporate these principles into coaching practices.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Previous coaching experience in a private or Christian school setting is a plus.

Work Schedule for this head coach position:
- Part-time position with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on practice and competition schedules.
