Support the voice and data network communications needs of the company and its employees. Install, troubleshoot and maintain wired and wireless internetwork communications.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Network Engineering staff in support of internetwork communications
  • Assists operations and other users with hardware, software, and networking problems.
  • Interfaces with communication providers and vendors in support of the communications network.
  • Performs troubleshooting functions to resolve problems with networking hardware and software.
  • Performs technical support for remote offices using various connectivity technologies (i.e.: T1, MPLS, Fiber, Copper, Ethernet, Microwave, VHF/UHF, Cellular, etc.)
  • Document tasks within work management system
  • Monitor stock of spare parts and prepare purchase requisitions for network communication equipment.
  • Perform other support functions as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years minimum information systems experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry, with a special emphasis on network communication systems.
  • Knowledge of voice/data network communications protocols, topology, and technology.
  • Knowledge of voice/data networking communications hardware and software.
  • Ability in diagnosing and solving network related problems while maintaining patience, and professionalism
  • Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced demanding work environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, fellow employees, and supervisors within other departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex Information Systems' concepts into an organized and presentable manner.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
  • Required: O365, Various Windows O/S, Cisco networking hardware, software, and other various internetwork utilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of oil and gas industry communications systems

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Associate degree and 2 years' experience or Five (5) years related information systems experience.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Preferred: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
