The College of Arts & Sciences Business Office is accepting applications for the position of Director of Business Affairs. The College of Arts & Sciences is one of the largest colleges at the university consisting of 14-departments with more than 400 full-time represented faculty members, over 180 unrepresented staff employees and more than 8,000 students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Job Overview
The Director of Business Affairs works with the Senior Business Officer to manage a complex array of funds and assist in assessing, evaluating and implementing new financial policies and programs within the college. In addition, the person in this position is responsible for communicating financial policies and procedures; managing, organizing and planning multifunctional staff efforts; and providing financial oversight to include budgeting, revenue generation, expense control, financial analysis and review, fiscal compliance and fund management. The successful candidate will have prior experience with UC financial systems and policies. The ideal candidate will have advanced administrative and organizational skills and an appreciation for detailed oriented projects. They will possess the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a timely manner and have strong project management skills. Attention to detail as it relates to administrative processes and related office projects is a priority for this role. The candidate should enjoy collaborating and working in a team environment. Candidate should be able to work with minimal supervision and willing to assist with all related office duties as needed. Essential Functions
* Develop, recommend, implement, and communicate financial and administrative policies and procedures. * Establish long-range objectives and specify the strategies and actions to achieve these objectives. * Assess, evaluate and implement new software, revenue creating projects and other initiatives. * May develop and control substantial departmental budgets and resources. May approve major capital expenditures. * May forecast financial and facilities requirements. * May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). * Perform related duties based on departmental need. Bachelor's Degree must be in Business Administration or related field. Required Experience
