Role: Services Technician

Location: This role is fully onsite in Oakland, CA

Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 8am - 5pm

Salary: $48,000 - $50,000


Now is the time to bring your expertise to this role for a Fortune 500 Solutions Integrator where success and fulfillment go hand in hand. You will be at the forefront of helping businesses transform their cloud, data, AI, cybersecurity, and analytics to ensure they are future-ready.

As a Services Technician with Insight, you will perform installation, modification, repair, testing and/or servicing on systems and communications equipment, including, but not limited to hardware and peripherals; software configuration; voice, video and data cabling systems; and networks. We will count on you to Identify system hardware problems and determine the most efficient and cost effective way of resolving the problem. Along the way, you will Perform necessary hardware and peripheral repair, keeping client downtime to a minimum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teammates in person and remotely.
  • Provide White Glove support to executives and equivalent teams.
  • Install, Configure, and Troubleshoot end-user PC Software and Hardware issues (Windows and Mac OS X)
  • Troubleshoot and providesupport for all warehouse-related equipment, such as printers, scanners, automation, paging systems, and AV equipment.
  • Troubleshoot Android and iOS devices.
  • Track fixed assets and inventory.
  • Educate and set up new teammate's hardware/software.
  • Console into client server.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Strong experience with PC hardware and peripherals
  • Strong experience with Android and iOS mobile device support
  • Strong experience with Windows operating systems (Win10, Win11)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Mac OS
  • Ability to research and provide solutions to complex technical issues.
  • Strong experience supporting a variety of software (Adobe, Salesforce, SAP, Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, AAD, Intune, and virtualized platforms)
  • Hands on experience with network and server connectivity.
  • Experience Supporting Encryption Software
  • Experience utilizing standard ticket-handling applications.
  • Strong Customer Services Skills and Experience
  • Understanding of and ability to work in a large corporate environment and protocol required.
  • Understanding of the computer imaging process and Auto-pilot process
  • Ability to multitask with strong organization and time management skills.
  • Able to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints urgently and in a timely fashion.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Desktop and End-user support in the IT field or a related field with a strong background in operating systems, desktop hardware, and peripheral support.

As a Services Technician you will get to:

  • Performs necessary hardware and peripheral repairs. This includes, but is not limited to, identifying the problem and determining the most efficient and cost effective way to resolve the problem, keeping customer downtime to a minimum.

  • Installs and tests system hardware at customer site. This includes, but is not limited to, setting up the hardware, testing the hardware to make sure it is working, identifying system hardware problems and following any special instructions.

  • Completes all required documentation involved in a service call to ensure accurate billing, and timely return of defective products/parts, with respect to warranty or contract. This includes completion of required Insight and vendor paperwork, preparing defective products or parts for return to vendor, and promptly returning defective products/parts and paperwork according to Insight policies and procedures.

  • Understand current depot programs such as Hot Swap and AR3D; participate as needed.
