Job Purpose:

The Buyer is responsible for managing inventory and creating purchase orders for stock and non-stock parts at JX. This role involves building strong supplier relationships, coordinating inter-facility transfers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting, receiving, and warehousing issues. The Buyer ensures that the right products are available at the right time while supporting continuous improvement efforts and upholding company values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Honor Commitments:

  Perform daily review to identify and execute purchase requirements for assigned parts categories (i.e. reviewing and gathering inventory data, placing orders, determination of locations to receive inventory, etc).

  Ensure accurate and timely purchase orders while acknowledging supplier commitments.

  
  
• 
  

  Verifies prices against any contractual agreements and/or market based priced raw materials.

  Partner with cross-functional teams (receiving, accounting, warehousing) to resolve issues and create seamless experiences for all stakeholders. Proactively communicate and resolve delivery gaps.

  Become knowledgeable about commodities, stay current on market trends, and assist in creating Work Instructions or Standard Operating Procedures.

  Work closely with procurement leadership to develop skills and expertise in spot buys and cost-saving opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in supply chain, data management, quality assurance, or a similar field is preferred.

  Minimum of 2 years in procurement or supply chain, with a proven ability to manage purchasing execution and supplier performance. Distribution, transportation, or indirect buying experience is a plus.
