Senior Technical Product Manager ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

As a Senior Technical Product Manager, you will be joining a passionate team working to redefine VyStar's Digital Experience, where you will obsess daily over the member experience through data-driven analysis, validated learning, journey mapping, and experimentation to deliver digital innovation to VyStar's members. To succeed you must be comfortable pushing big change by starting small, testing, and learning your way to something new. As well as possessing a bias toward action, you try things, and sometimes you fail, but you can get around roadblocks and stay focused on your goals. We're looking for an inquisitive and strategic Senior Technical Product Manager that is eager to roll up their sleeves to execute.

As a Senior Technical Product Manager, you will drive the vision and execution of VyStar's cross-domain Technology Enablement strategy across our member-facing digital products, platforms, and portfolios. Specifically, you will redefine and productize VyStar's strategy and execution of digital banking APIs; performance improvements and platform standardization; user interface (UI) component libraries; content management integration; and other digital experience tooling, integration, and standardization initiatives. This role will require you to leverage your experience and expertise in software development as well as your acumen and aptitude for product management to architect digital solutions that can be deployed to and leveraged by other product teams that enable them to move faster with greater safety and stability, ultimately driving efficient, consistent, and effective digital experiences for every product and service offered in the digital channel.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing product strategies that drive business growth and market success.
  • Strong aptitude for roadmap development, product vision, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong background in agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and experience working in cross-functional Agile teams.
  • Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsiveness to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to take well-reasoned bets on new products and services to meet member goals.
  • Strong analytical mindset and proficiency in using data and metrics to drive product decisions.
  • A solid understanding of the financial services industry and the laws and regulations that govern and/or impact the credit union.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills and social sensitivity are required. The candidate comes into contact with employees on all levels of the organization. The candidate is a resource to the organization and must be an effective listener and communicator. The candidate must set the example in attitude, behavior, and work ethic.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.

EXPERIENCE

  • You are an experienced Product Manager with 3-8 years of experience in business-line departments and/or technical roles at a customer-focused, consumer-centric financial services organization (or related industry).
  • 5+ years of proven experience in software engineering, providing a deep understanding of development processes and technical requirements.
  • 1-2+ years' experience leading and mentoring team members to deliver against key Digital Initiatives and broader digital roadmap
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in areas of performance management and/or customer experience in the financial industry focused on driving affinity, acquisition and profitability of related area(s).
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in API development, integration, and management.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or related field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of programming languages relevant to your product and industry (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, .NET/C#, etc.).
  • Experience in designing and integrating APIs, understanding RESTful principles, and managing API lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with authentication mechanisms, API security, and data serialization formats (e.g., JSON, XML).
  • Familiarity with various architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, monolithic, event-driven) and their implications on product development.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools to streamline development, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
  • Understanding of databases, including relational (e.g., SQL) and non-relational (e.g., NoSQL) databases.
  • Proficiency in using version control systems like Git, including branching strategies and merging workflows.
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies, automated testing frameworks, and best practices for ensuring product quality.
  • Agile SDLC Management Tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps)
  • Road mapping & Product Planning Tools (e.g., Roadmunk, Miro, Mural)
  • Familiarity with implementing Google Analytics/Adobe Analytics/Firebase tags as well as interpreting the data generated by these systems from their administrative interfaces
  • Working knowledge of Postman to build and interact with APIs
  • Familiarity with performance and system monitoring tools like App Insights, Datadog, App Dynamics, Splunk etc.
