Overview:

Veeco's manufacturing facility in Horsham, PA is seeking a Manufacturing Technician. The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for assembling and building complex semiconductor tools.

**This is a 2nd shift position with a schedule of 3:30pm to 12:00am.**

Responsibilities:



  • Build all aspects of the production machines including mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and plumbing with the ability to read plumbing and electrical schematics.
  • Troubleshoot assembly and build issues on all aspects of the production tool.
  • Ensure discrepant parts and design problems are conveyed to the supervisor and management team.
  • Input documentation into assembly manual and production logbook as needed.
  • Occasionally lead the tool build process. Responsible for assigning resources, maintaining build schedule, maintaining material flow, and addressing bottlenecks with engineering and other functional groups.
  • Understand and support the tool power-up process. Learn to lead the power-up process as needed.
  • Responsible for working with the production team to meet shipping schedule goals.
  • Assure that Veeco quality standards are followed to ensure delivery of a zero-defect product.
  • Support the direct hand-off of tool to shipping team once tool build is complete.
  • Follow all safety protocols while building & testing tools (e.g. safety log, safety tags, bypass tags, etc.).



Qualifications:

Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in a related field of manufacturing. Technical school preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Ability to bend, plumb and integrate all tubing connections (stainless steel Swagelok and Flare Tek TFE fittings) according to a plumbing schematics.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and light metalworking skills (drilling and tapping metal) required.
  • Ability to navigate through different software programs such as Excel, Word, CAD, SolidWorks.
  • Basic training in electronics and reading electrical schematics preferred.
  • Experience with small gauge wire stripping, pin crimping, and terminating preferred.
  • Experience with control software on automated machines preferred.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail with capacity to produce a high-quality work product.
  • Requires frequent changes in positions while working, including frequent standing, sitting, and bending throughout the shift.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend a ladderand lift/move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work overtime hours as required.






The expected salary range for this position is $42,896 - $54,335, plus bonus opportunity. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
