Join our dynamic Human Resources/Legal Affairs team at Waukesha County Technical College, where you'll play a key role in supporting the legal needs of our vibrant academic community. As a Part-Time Paralegal, you will help draft, review, and manage contracts and other legal documents that are vital to the smooth operation of our institution. This is a flexible part-time position that offers you the opportunity to apply your legal expertise in a collaborative and rewarding environment while maintaining work-life balance. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and revise contracts, agreements, and other legal documents in compliance with legal requirements and college guidelines.
  • Conduct legal research to ensure that legal documents comply with local, state, and federal laws and college policies.
  • Maintain and organize legal files, both physical and electronic, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal memoranda, correspondence, and reports.
  • Track contract deadlines and key dates, ensuring timely renewals and compliance with terms.
  • Coordinate with various departments and stakeholders to gather necessary information for contracts and agreements.
  • Ensure proper execution of legal documents and maintain records of signed contracts within the college's contract management database.
  • Assist with special legal projects and provide administrative support as needed.
  • Other related job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on contracts preferred.
  • Familiarity with contract law, legal terminology, and legal document formats.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal document management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Experience working in an educational setting or with public institutions is a plus.

Supplemental Information

This part-time position offers approximately 15-20 hours per week, with a flexible schedule based on the needs of the legal department
