The Chief VP Marketing and Brand Strategy at OneAZ Credit Union will be the visionary leader behind a bold strategy to elevate our brand and redefine what's possible in banking. Reporting directly to the EVP/Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, you will lead efforts to amplify OneAZ's purpose-driven approach, drive digital marketing innovation, and build deep brand connections that resonate with our community.

This role will steer transformative initiatives that go beyond campaigns-sparking conversations, inspiring dreams, and empowering communities to thrive. It will be the architect of a dynamic marketing strategy that embraces digital-first engagement, social media influence, and experiential marketing, ensuring OneAZ stands out as a financial trailblazer in Arizona.

As the steward of our brand, this role will oversee the seamless integration of our message across all touchpoints, from digital platforms to retail spaces, making sure that every customer interaction embodies OneAZ's commitment to growth, impact, and excellence.

A typical day might include the following

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; managing performance; rewarding and coaching associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Brand Leadership and Vision: Develop a bold brand vision that aligns with OneAZ's community-focused mission and positions OneAZ as a leader in both financial services and social responsibility. Ensure brand consistency across all customer touchpoints, including retail branches, digital platforms, and advertising channels. Oversee the application of brand standards in signage, decor, and in-branch member experiences to ensure consistency with the overall brand identity. Lead the brand reputation management strategy, ensuring that OneAZ is viewed as a trustworthy and community-centric financial institution. Develop and manage crisis communication plan, ensuring the brand remains resilient in the face of potential challenges, with a clear communication strategy to protect and enhance its reputation. Collaborate with HR to develop and enhance OneAZ's employer branding, ensuring it is positioned as a purpose-driven organization that attracts top talent. Lead internal marketing initiatives to promote OneAZ's values within the organization, ensuring that employees are aligned with the brand's mission and vision.
  • Community Impact and Purpose-Driven Marketing: Lead the development of purpose-driven marketing that highlight OneAZ's commitment to community impact, social responsibility, and financial education, positioning OneAZ as a positive force for change in Arizona's communities. Ensure the Corporate Partnership & Community Impact team efforts and partnerships with local organizations are strategically aligned and reflect OneAZ's broader mission of uplifting local communities. Develop marketing strategies that highlight OneAZ's commitment to the community, including corporate social responsibility initiatives and partnerships with local organizations. Leverage marketing campaigns to position OneAZ as a trusted community partner, driving impact through financial literacy, sustainable practices, and social responsibility.
  • Digital Marketing and Social Media Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy, including SEO, SEM, social media, and content marketing to increase brand visibility, drive engagement, and position OneAZ as a fintech-savvy institution. Ensure social media efforts reflect OneAZ's purpose-driven mission and build community engagement across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Partner with data analytics and insights to inform SEO and digital marketing strategies, and optimize campaigns to drive traffic, leads, and engagement. Leverage videography for effective storytelling and connection.
  • Strategic Campaign Execution: Lead content and creative strategy utilizing a structured and matrixed approach for personalization with a focus on strong positioning and messaging strategies. Lead multi-channel marketing campaigns for consumer banking, business banking, wealth management, and mortgage services, ensuring consistency across digital and physical retail spaces. Collaborate with product, data analytics, and UX/IX teams to ensure marketing campaigns are member-centric and tailored to meet the specific needs of Arizona's diverse financial community. Oversee marketing budget, ensuring that all initiatives are cost-effective, align with OneAZ's financial objectives, and deliver a strong ROI. Allocate resources efficiently between awareness and performance marketing and across various channels and campaigns, balancing profitability with purpose and ensuring the brand remains aligned with OneAZ's community impact goals.
  • Retail Spaces and Brand Consistency: Ensure all OneAZ retail spaces (branches, pop-up locations, and event spaces) are fully aligned with the organization's brand identity, reflecting brand consistency in design, signage, and overall experience. Collaborate with retail operations, facilities, and design teams to ensure branding guidelines are met across all physical locations, ensuring members experience the same high standard of service and brand immersion whether online or in-person.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing team, fostering collaboration across departments to deliver consistent brand and marketing strategies across all digital and physical locations. Foster a culture of purpose, innovation, and accountability, ensuring the marketing team stays aligned with OneAZ's community-focused mission.

Education

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • MBA Required, preferably with a focus on marketing, brand strategy, or business development.

Experience

  • 10 to 15 years of similar or related experience in a senior strategic role within the financial sector.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven success in leading brand transformation and marketing strategies within financial institutions or fintechs, with a focus on digital marketing, SEO, social media, and influencer marketing.
  • Collaborative leadership with expert ability to work cross-functionally
  • Experience managing both Marketing and Brand budgets, with a strong focus on driving ROI while maintaining alignment with community impact and brand integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure brand consistency across physical retail spaces, digital channels, and marketing initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of retail marketing and ensuring seamless brand integration across branches and physical touchpoints.
  • Expertise in digital transformation, including the use of AI, automation, and CRM systems to improve marketing efficiency and customer experience.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues in the financial services industry, ensuring all marketing initiatives are legally compliant.
  • Experience in multi-segment marketing across different customer segments, including consumer banking, business, and wealth management.
  • Proficiency in MarTech platforms, such as HubSpot, Salesforce, and Google Analytics, to drive data-driven decisions and optimize campaigns.
  • Leadership experience in agile marketing, promoting a test-and-learn approach to campaign development.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial products in an engaging and relatable way.
  • Proven success in performance marketing and campaign attribution, with a focus on maximizing ROI.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with community organizations, influencers, and local businesses.
  • Innovative thinker with a strong community-driven mindset and a passion for building purpose-driven brands.
