A postdoctoral position is available in the Sims-Lucas Lab at the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh/University of Pittsburgh. The position will investigate the mechanisms that drive susceptibility to kidney injury in animal models, specifically, therapeutic exploration of mechanisms related to fatty acid oxidation and microRNAs. We are looking for a recent or imminent Ph.D. graduate with experience in molecular and cellular biology including expertise in animal handling and surgery. Experience with mass spectrometry, large data sets, histology, and microscopy is a plus but is not required. The successful individual will be a collaborative, friendly, and motivated individual who is comfortable working as part of a group as well as independently to explore their own ideas.
