Join our Baby Friendly Designated Team as we seek a dynamic and motivated Patient Services Manager for Lactation and Perinatal Education Services! As the Patient Services Manager III you will champion healthy starts with perinatal education and managing lactation services as the frontline manager. This leader will provide oversight of bedside lactation consultant personnel, staffing all inpatient lactation visits within Women's services, Emergency department, and other inpatient and outpatient (clinic) needs within UNC Medical Center. This role is crucial for continued Baby Friendly designation with specific program requirements; audits; and perinatal education management for both staff and families. Manager duties include ensuring quality care and services are available to patients and families. Other duties to include annual performance reviews of staff, and participation in quality improvement initiatives to address identified patient safety or quality of care issues. Provides and facilitates an environment conducive to staff continuing education needs, ongoing unit-based educational needs and orientation of staff members. Prior experience as a manager and Lactation Consultant are essential. This is a full-time, 40 hours/week, primarily working 8am-5pm, however, does require 24/7 operation of the unit. Summary: This position supervising large clinical units. Duties include ensuring that appropriate care and services are available to patients and families, ensures adequate and appropriate clinic staffing on each shift, supervision of nursing staff, medical support staff and utility aide staff, assistance with annual performance reviews of staff, participation in quality improvement initiatives to address identified patient safety or quality of care issues. Provides and facilitates an environment conducive to staff continuing education needs, ongoing unit-based educational needs and orientation of staff members.
