Summary of Job Duties:The Assistant/Associate Professor or Professor faculty position is a 12-month, tenure-track or non-tenure track, full-time faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice on the UAMS main campus in Little Rock. Faculty positions are available within the general department, division (Pharmaceutical Evaluation and Policy (PEP); Northwest Campus), or center (Center for Implementation Research) organizational structures. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in an area relevant to the mission of the department OR PharmD plus completion of 1 year of residency training.

  • For those with clinical responsibilities: At least 3 years of clinical practice experience in a relevant practice setting if have not completed at least one year of residency.

  • Those holding a PharmD degree: Must hold an active Arkansas pharmacist license or be eligible for Arkansas pharmacist licensure.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • For those with clinical responsibilities: Completion of a PGY2 residency in a relevant area.

  • For those with clinical responsibilities: Board certification in a relevant area (eg, BCPS, BCCP, BCNSP, etc).

  • Post-doctoral fellowship in an area of expertise relevant to the mission of the Department.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key member of the faculty to advance the teaching, scholarly, and service mission of the Department of Pharmacy Practice.

  • Participate in a wide variety of didactic and experiential teaching of pharmacy students, pharmacy residents, and graduate students.

  • Disseminate scholarly work through peer-reviewed publications and professional/scientific meeting presentations.

  • Develop an independent research program in an area complementary to others in the College.

  • Service contribution to the Department, College, University, and profession is also expected.

  • Perform didactic teaching.

  • Clinical teaching and clinical practice/direct patient care.
