The Role: Physical Security Technician

Job Summary:

Presidio is seeking a Physical Security Technician to join our team. Presidio has an electronic security systems integration department that specializes in consulting, designing, project management, installation, and service of small to large integrated Security Access Control and Video Surveillance systems. We are looking for a professional, consistent, enthusiastic team member to join the team.

Travel Requirements:

In this role, you will be expected to travel daily to client sites.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Installation of integrated systems based on industry approved guidelines.
  • Inspect, Install, and repair electronic security systems to specifications and quality expectations.
  • Assemble and program new panels and equipment to ensure proper functionality and operation.
  • Service and trouble shoot systems based on industry approved guidelines.
  • Respond to trouble and occasional emergency after-hours calls.
  • Follows job/manufacturer's schematic wiring diagrams, blueprints, and installation procedures.
  • Reads and reviews project blueprints as required.
  • Generate proper documentation throughout all phases of a project.
  • Complete and process required paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Commissioning of integrated systems.
  • Mounting and terminating field devices (i.e., Readers, Door Contacts, REXs, Cameras).
  • Ensure high level of customer service, satisfaction and communication.
  • Follow safety rules and good driving habits.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills:



  • Job requires installing devices while on all size ladders, lifting equipment up to 50 LBS, and working in confined spaces (crawl spaces).
  • Good verbal communication with supervisors and customers.
  • Work safely and responsibly to avoid injury/property damage, and cleans up work area.
  • Self-motivated and desire to succeed.


Additional Desired Skills:



  • Must be willing to attend training sessions and mandatory meetings.
  • Must be able to obtain required Certification(s) and License(s).
  • Must meet safe driving policy criteria to be an active company vehicle driver.
  • Must have regular and punctual attendance.
  • Must Provide own hand tools, work boots.


Education and Experience:



  • High School Diploma/GED or Bachelor's degree and/or military experience.
  • 3+ years working experience in a Technical Physical Security organization/position
  • Technical and/or Mechanical knowledge and abilities.
  • Have working Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel as needed.


Physical Demands & Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, individuals may be required to stand for extended periods of time using handheld equipment and power tools. This position also requires the ability to spend time walking, standing, and touring medical and other facilities. May lift and carry up to 50lbs. May encounter frequent climbing of stairs and ladders.
