Job Description Summary

Enterprise is seeking a Senior Director to manage its national Faith-Based Development Initiative (FBDI) program. The ideal candidate will be a skilled program developer and leader, with experience designing and implementing programs at a regional and national scale. Experience working with faith-based organizations is preferred but not required. The Senior Director will manage the FBDI, a national effort that provides houses of worship with the knowledge and tools to develop underutilized land into affordable homes and community facilities. The FBDI began as a regional effort in 2006 and now supports multi-year cohorts in eleven jurisdictions across the country. The Senior Director will be responsible for a range of duties including program expansion development, program management coordination with regional Enterprise market staff, relationship development and management with regional and national stakeholders, communications strategy development with national Enterprise Communications team members and fundraising in collaboration with national Enterprise Resource Development team members.

The position requires the ability to work independently while managing significant and complex priorities. Strong project management skills, judgment, and frequent interaction with all levels of internal and external partners is also required.

This position is based in the Washington, D.C. metro region. Occasional travel will be required.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with Senior Advisor, National FBDI, support and manage the creation, refinement and execution of FBDI National's strategic plan and national scaling growth plan.
  • In collaboration with Senior Advisor, FBDI, support and manage relationships with key national FBDI partners - including denominational and real estate industry stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage a program to provide FBDI related services outside of non-Enterprise regional market geographies.
  • Support creation of case-making materials for importance of FBDI related efforts in meeting the nation's housing supply needs.
  • Assist with the oversight and management of national reporting requirements, including:
    • Program reporting
    • Funder reporting
    • Data management
  • Support market staff with implementing, managing, and evaluating local programming efforts.
  • Work with local and federal policy teams to support development of policies supporting faith-based development.
  • In collaboration with resource development team, assess the funder landscape, develop and submit proposals, develop new and manage existing relationships with funders.
  • Support the evaluation of FBDI National in collaboration with Solutions' Impact and Evaluation team.
  • Work in collaboration with Finance and Operations Management to oversee and manage the FBDI National budget and related grants and contracts.
  • Supervise FBDI National staff and consultants.
  • Review, update and/or develop programmatic resource and website materials, including the ongoing management of FBDI National's standard operating procedure, in collaboration with key internal stakeholders
  • Manage and execute meeting scheduling, coordination, documentation and follow-up communications as needed.
  • Represent Enterprise FBDI at local, regional and national convenings.
  • Identify obstacles to success and provide expertise and assistance, including the development of new tools or resources to enhance outcomes and overcome obstacles.
  • Coordinate with national Enterprise colleagues to pursue media and communications opportunities to disseminate programmatic milestones and findings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Comfortable with a hybrid work schedule and ability to come to the DC office 1-2 days per week.
  • Occasional out of town travel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with significant implementation responsibilities in relevant fields of community development and affordable housing, faith-based development, public policy, urban planning, government, banking and finance, nonprofit, or real estate development.
  • Graduate degree may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience.
  • Experience working with faith-based organizations is preferred but not required.
  • Commitment to advancing racial equity including creating a culture of inclusivity, equity, and diversity; creating learning and leadership opportunities for BIPOC communities; and creating equitable procurement opportunities.
  • Understanding of the basic principles of real estate finance and development.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate concepts graphically through PowerPoint and other visually oriented media.
  • Solid organizational and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and assignments and to shift priorities as required.
  • Solid ability to analyze current processes and develop improvements. May identify and suggest program ideas and opportunities for consideration and development with manager.
  • Ability to work under moderate supervision. Receives instructions primarily on unusual or complex problems. May independently develop approach to solutions.
  • Works successfully on cross-functional and/or virtual teams involving multiple groups or geographies to achieve team goals
  • Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to guide diverse stakeholders through discussions that result in clear next steps and decisions.
  • Experience working in Salesforce and Excel preferred but not required.

The base salary for this role is $125,000 to $140,000, depending on level of skills and experience.

The salary range for this position is represented by the low and high end of the range for the amount to be paid for the position. Salaries paid at Enterprise will vary based on factors that may include skills, education, location, experience, and performance. The salary range is just a part of the total rewards package provided to employees at Enterprise, and other rewards may include annual performance bonuses and generous paid leave programs.
