Focus:This exciting role will offer HR support to the Texas Operations chemical business at Olin. It is a dynamic and visible role offering further growth opportunities within our HR team. You will provide client support on all human resources related matters, including but not limited to, hiring, employee relations, HR Compliance and Affirmative Action, onboarding, learning and development, performance, and talent management.
HR Business Partner Essential Job Functions:
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand organizational goals and create workforce plans that align talent needs with strategic objectives. This includes forecasting future staffing needs, analyzing workforce data, and identifying skill gaps.
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and management on employee relations issues, providing guidance on handling disputes, performance issues, and disciplinary actions. Facilitate a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns and implementing proactive measures to improve morale and retention.
- Guide and support managers in conducting effective performance appraisals, setting SMART goals, and developing employees. Ensure that performance management processes are consistent and that feedback mechanisms are in place to foster continuous improvement and career development.
- Partner with Talent Specialist to attract and select top talent, participate in the interview process, and make recommendations based on business needs.
- Develop and implement retention strategies by analyzing turnover data, employee engagement surveys, and by recommending actions to reduce attrition. Supports Olin's DEIB and Affirmative Action initiatives.
- Ensure that HR policies and practices are in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Review and update HR policies regularly, provide training to managers on legal and regulatory updates, and manage risk by ensuring adherence to internal policies.
- Use HR analytics to gather and interpret data on turnover, engagement, productivity, and other key metrics. Provide actionable insights to business leaders, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding talent strategies and organizational effectiveness.
HR Business Partner Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree* in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Organizational Development/Management, Employment Law or Business-related discipline
- 3+ years of progressive experience in human resources required; prior experience in an HRBP role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, ADA/ADEA, AAP/EEO).
- Technical abilities and experience with HRIS, ATS and other HR systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, influence without authority, and effectively communicate with employees at all levels. Must have strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Occasional travel is required, up to 10%
- The ability and willingness to relocate within Olin to other locations in the future is strongly preferred
