The University of Virginia's Department of Student Health and Wellness (SHW) is looking for a Confidential Survivor Advocate. The Confidential Survivor Advocate provides comprehensive support to students who have experienced sexual harassment, assault, dating/domestic violence, sexual exploitation, stalking, and other forms of interpersonal violence (or relationship and sexual violence). The Advocate acts as a confidential contact for affected students, assisting with crisis response, advocacy, accompaniment, and immediate and ongoing safety concerns and connecting them with appropriate University and community referral resources. The role involves offering trauma-informed care and maintaining confidentiality while ensuring compliance with Title IX and other relevant regulations. We are looking for someone to join a growing and dynamic team in the Well-being unit of SHW. Well-being encompasses health promotion, alcohol, and other drug prevention, hazing prevention, recovery support services, wellness coaching, and the student teaching kitchen. This role would be an integral part of our efforts to provide a comprehensive approach to sexual violence prevention and response.

Physical Demands: About the Position This position will require some nights and weekend hours and may get called to support a student after hours. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $55,000.00-65,000.00 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
