Architects (licensed), SmithGroup, Inc., sub. of SmithGroup Co., Inc.,350 S. Grand Avenue, Suite 1800, Los Angeles, CA: The Architect (licensed) will collaborate with the project team to develop innovative solutions as well as coordinate the design through all documentation phases of a project. Job duties will include: Creates graphics and renderings. Develops planning and design concepts. Prepares and coordinates architectural drawings, renderings, specifications and design assignments under general supervision to meet project requirements. Produces accurate documents that align with SmithGroup standards for project assignments. Supports more senior planners and architects on large projects. Details internal and external features of a building. Researches more complex details using knowledge of basic drawing details. Consults with manufacturers; researches and proposes materials and products. Assists in construction administration including responding to RFI's, preparing sketches and addenda, visiting construction sites to gather information and/or prepare punch lists, and reviewing and processing submittals. Applies knowledge of building codes, zoning ordinances and other external issues to building design concepts. Manages aspects of a project and proactively provides status reports to project leadership. Determines level of effort required for a given assignment and provides input on scheduling. Creates graphics for inclusion in marketing proposals, materials and presentations. Shares knowledge with peers and colleagues to support learning and professional growth. Works with design, rendering and BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, V-Ray, Lumion, Sketch-up, Photoshop, Bluebeam, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. Works with current general documentation software such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Utilization of computational design with software such as Dynamo, Grasshopper, Python. Telecommuting is permitted, 2 days a week. Regional travel may be required, up to 25% of the time. Minimum requirements: a bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent degrees accepted) in architecture, or a closely related architecture or design field of study and four years of experience in any related occupation working on architectural design. A valid architecture license from any U.S. jurisdiction is required.Basic annual pay range is eighty-eight thousand, seven hundred twelve dollars to eighty-nine thousand, two hundred twelve dollars for full-time employment and standard company benefits.
