Job Description

Position Description:

This position will advocate for user research best practices and standards that maximize customer and user engagement. Work closely with key stakeholders, marketers, product teams, user experience specialists, development, and other partners to deliver solutions that support our digital product vision. This position will focus on a specialized lens of usability, measurement, and compliance. Work on efforts relating to data centralization, continuous feedback mechanisms, and formal usability evaluation structure. This role will advocate for human centered design and usability across the Ameritas enterprise.

Position Location:



  • This is a hybrid role working partially in-office (Cincinnati, OH or Lincoln, NE) and partially from home.



What you do:



  • Develop UX usability evaluation solutions for multiple digital asset types.
  • Responsibilities include building and analyzing journey maps and personas.
  • This role will have a focus on accessibility and legal compliance and will collaborate with relevant partners on those topics.
  • Manage usability panels.
  • Measure and track usability metrics and provide insights to partners. Centralize usability data and insights.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to internal peers; field questions, usability requirements, provide guidance, and collect feedback on component designs; support evolution of processes and methods within the established framework.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional, virtual product development team and effectively present ideas and designs. Deliver actionable customer insights and metrics through data-informed decisioning. Leverage data to highlight a structured and evidence-driven approach to improving user experiences.
  • Assist in the success of the Digital Team through strong collaboration.
  • Analyze, document, and report usability results for strategic and tactical decision making.
  • Attend project and status meetings as required, providing strong presence and advocacy within cross-functional teams.
  • Enable development of excellent, high quality digital experience which meets project goals and requirements while evolving our design system and workflows.
  • Solve complex interaction problems and turns them into clearly designed solutions.
  • Work with developers, product owners, data scientists, and user advocates to create a collaborative design process from conception to launch.
  • Facilitate design brainstorming and work sessions to inform the optimal customer experience through user research.
  • Monitor shipped product iterations and make recommendations for improved customer satisfaction and usability.



What you bring:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, User Experience, Computer Science, or a related field desired.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a UX related field required.
  • Understanding of user-centered design and usability principles desired.
  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative methodologies required.
  • Proficiency in conducting usability testing and data analysis techniques required.
  • Experience in conducting heuristic evaluations required.
  • Awareness of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) desired.
  • Knowledge of insurance and financial services industry products, services, regulatory requirements, compliance, and terminology desired.

About this Position's Pay
The pay range posted reflects a nationwide minimum to maximum covering all potential locations where the position may be filled. The final determination on pay for any position will be based on multiple factors including role, career level, work location, skill set, and candidate level of experience to ensure pay equity within the organization. This position will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits package (see above for details). This position will be eligible to participate in our Short-Term Incentive Plan with the annual target defined by the plan.
