Summary of Position
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for the synthesis, purification and characterization of novel nucleic acid based extracellular matrices that facilitate fluorescence imaging of cellular membranes. The researcher is also expected to perform cell culture and develop assays to test the matrices in live and fixed cells and in 2D or 3D using confocal imaging, viability tests, and release assays. Successful applicant will demonstrate a strong interest in the mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biochemistry or it's equivalent that includes research specializing in growing eukaryotic cell lines, 2D cell culture, 3D cell culture, confocal microscopy, RNAseq, DNAseq, molecular biology assays, and knowledge of chemical biology. Candidates should also be familiar with image processing software, and statistical software like R.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Applicants that have held independent researcher positions and have a record of mentorship are preferred. Candidates with master degree's in biological sciences with an additional Ph.D. are preferred.
