This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

We are in search of a Manager for our Refurbishment Test team. This leader would provide centralized support to New Glenn, apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, commitment to quality, and positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

This role will have the primary responsibility of managing a team of hardworking test engineers focused on integrated testing of mechanical avionics, and fluids systems for the refurbishment of New Glenn. In this role, you will be responsible for providing people, programmatic, and technical management to reliably execute the scope of this team. Your team will coordinate with all test stakeholders, design tests to satisfy refurb objectives, perform detailed hazard/mitigation planning, identify instrumentation/test GSE needs, and execute this testing predominantly out of our site in Florida. By leading this team, you will have the ability to impact the industry by shaping New Glenn's reusability operating plan.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree or higher in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years experience operating or around launch, aerospace, aviation, or satellite systems
  • Proven experience and successful track record leading teams and influencing company-level policy/direction.
  • Demonstrated experience building, optimizing, and evolving team tools, processes, and standards.
  • Proven experience in motivating other departments within your organization to commit to a collaborative effort and deliver on an aggressive schedule.
  • Strong work ethic with a high attention to detail and team organization skills.
  • Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at the executive leadership level and on the shop floor is required.
  • Hands-on experience in developing, authoring, and executing integrated tests on flight hardware.
  • Passion for spaceflight and space exploration.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Experience with aerospace system functional checks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success as a direct manager of a team of at least ten individuals.
  • Demonstrated technical or management expertise in developing procedures for inspection, testing, checkout, installation, and maintenance of orbital class launch vehicles
  • Experience with aerospace vehicle systems and manufacturing technologies
  • Advanced degree, certification, and/or training in a directly related field
  • Experience in new or startup operational environments
  • Proficiency in business and engineering software (i.e., MSOffice, Jules, Aeon, Windchill, PLM, etc.)
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills and a proven ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight

Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
