Job Description: The Senior Software Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Franklin, WI will develop applications, contributing to functional and technical specifications, design, and development. Create high-level and low-level design and build and maintain reliable systems using tools including Java, Spring tech stack, Unix script, ORM Tools, and Message Services (JMS) to transform data from various systems present in organization. Build resilient systems using Docker and Kubernetes. Deploy developed artifacts over CI/CD platform using GitLab on AWS. Upgrading existing live systems by implementing new technology stack improvements. Monitor live systems, fix bugs, analyze technical solutions, write new features, and provide estimation with engineering team collaboration. Micro Service development, Junit, Mockito, and Version control GitLab. Modernize existing applications using latest technology stack including Spring Boot, Spring Batch, ORM Tools. Develop solutions using agile methods. Assess and provide solutions to system-wide architectural problems. Mentor team and perform peer reviews on code and design. Telecommuting permitted 2 days per week. Salary $131,893- $203,840 per year.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 5 years of experience as a software engineer or a related occupation. Experience must include 5 years with each of the following: (1) Java, J2ee, Object Oriented Programming (OOPs), Database, and ORM Tools; (2) Spring Tech Stack, Unix script; (3) Micro Service development, Junit, Mockito, and Version control GitLab; (4) Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS; and (5) developing solutions using agile methods.
