EHS Technician I - C shift

Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for an EHS Technician I at our Marinette, Wisconsin location on C shift.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible is to monitor, train, and enforce EHS policies and procedures, while coordinating various compliance activities. This position develops, coordinates, and assists with training on applicable EHS programs, policies, and procedures. All functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable company policies and procedures. Additional duties may be assigned, and functions may be modified, according to business necessity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Coordinate competent person for confined space, and scaffolding.
  • Conduct yard-wide safety inspections/review with appropriate documentation.
  • New employee/Contractor Safety orientation presentations.
  • Conduct Accident investigations
  • Conduct monthly safety compliance training
  • Support the management team in achieving training and development objectives.
  • Environmental monitoring including inspections
  • Coordinate Job Safety Analyses
  • Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Conduct yard-wide safety training including developing PowerPoint presentations used by the Department
  • Must be capable of preparing EHS reports for Department of Labor Review as well as Workers Compensation.
  • Conduct and Analyze DOT Drug Testing and Breath Alcohol Testing
  • Conduct training for management personnel in line with safety observation program
  • Have the ability to provide first aid and become CPR qualified
  • Design, schedule & maintain all employee occupational health and safety training files
  • Maintain appropriate confidential occupational health medical documents
  • Utilize current Learning Management Software for viability and consistency in required training
  • Track monthly OSHA rates and send out reports on a monthly/weekly basis
  • Support EHS team in order to analyze and recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials
  • First level support for documenting incidents to identify cause and determine detailed proactive measures to prevent such instances in the future
  • Inspect specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, or first-aid supplies

While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.
