Position Description:
Ryerson has an opportunity for an Order Assembler position. As an Order Assembler you are responsible for is to fill orders by assembling of sheet product, bars/tubing, load/unload of trucks, through the operation of an overhead crane, forklift, side loader, and other manual material handling equipment.

This position is 2nd shift. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm.
Roles and Responsibilities: * Safety is a priority - you will learn proper safety measures via online and in-person training * You start the day reviewing production orders then preparing your material for processing * You ensure the material meets a customer's expectations by checking the size, finish, and accuracy of the finished product (Measure twice, cut once) * You will use a crane and/or forklift to move material for outbound shipping * Check to make sure your machine and station is in working order and identify any issues * You will keep your work area clean and ensure that all workplace hazards are reported immediately * Working in a safe manner as outlined during training and use prescribed safety equipment including PPE * All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
Position Requirements:
* Some of warehouse experience * SAP experience preferred * Certified fork truck and overhead crane (sheet lifter, chains, slings, hoists, or hooks) experience preferred * Experience with hand tools for banding and packaging material preferred * Understand work order packaging specifications preferred * Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screen * Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
