The Paramedic Instructor is responsible for preparing and delivering didactic and laboratory education that parallels the National Standards and the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) curriculum. The Paramedic Instructor will develop curriculum, instruct and supervise students, evaluate students, prepare reports, and maintain student records. This position will be issued an additional adjunct contract with additional compensation of approximately $6,000 - $7,000 for required teaching during the summer semester. Typical Responsibilities Include:
- Developing competency-based instructional materials that meet ODPS curriculum requirements.
- Supervising, providing instruction, and evaluating students enrolled in paramedic programs. May also provide instruction as needed for other EMS certification curricula including EMT-Basic, Intermediate and First responder.
- Preparing for class by reviewing topic material in the current textbook used by the program, incorporating ODPS curriculum objectives into lesson plans.
- Assisting the Department Chair and EMS Program Coordinator to maintain accreditations and ODPS Charter.
- Promoting the college's EMS program, associate degree and other relevant training programs.
To Be Considered You'll Need:
- Current Ohio Department of Public Safety Paramedic Certification
- Current Ohio Department of Public Safety Fire and Emergency Services Instructor II Certification
- Associates degree or higher in a directly-related field from a nationally recognized accrediting institution or the ability to complete the Associate's degree within one year of hire.
- Current and valid Ohio driver's license.

Think of this like traditional phone interviews, but faster - allowing us to be more responsive to you, the applicant. Checking candidates' references for multiple top candidates provides a valuable means of verifying skills and experience represented in resumes and interviews. SkillSurvey Reference, a cloud-based, data-driven solution allows us to access relevant feedback from references provided by our candidates. The chosen references receive job-specific surveys on at least 26 critical behaviors and skills. These behavioral competencies have been scientifically studied and have been shown to correlate with work outcomes. Stark State College utilizes E-Verify to ensure compliance with applicable employment eligibility laws. E-Verify is an electronic system used to confirm the employment eligibility of new hires.
