About Salesforce

We're Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too - driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good - you've come to the right place.

At Salesforce AI Cloud, you'll be working at the cutting edge of AI innovation, building the next generation of products that shape the future of AI-powered enterprise solutions. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in AI research, data science, and product management, all while driving tangible business outcomes for customers. If you're a deep product thinker who loves to get into the details and is excited about the potential of AI, we want to hear from you.

As a Director/Senior Director of Product Management, you will serve as a deep product thinker, focused on developing and shaping products that leverage large language models (LLMs) and other advanced AI technologies. This position is not focused on coding but requires a deep technical understanding of AI to inform decision-making and product strategy. You'll be responsible for guiding the development of prototypes and products at the frontier of AI innovation, ensuring they meet customer needs and market demands.

You will collaborate closely with customers to build, iterate, and refine AI-powered prototypes, with the goal of achieving rapid product-market fit. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role that demands the ability to get into the weeds of both the product and customer needs, while leading cross-functional teams to drive innovation forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Product Strategy: Partner with Salesforce AI Research to develop cutting-edge AI prototypes that could lead to groundbreaking, market-differentiating products. You will play a key role in defining product vision and direction for AI-enabled features and capabilities.

  • Customer-Focused Innovation: Engage with select, high-profile customers to rapidly prototype and iterate on AI-powered solutions. Work closely with customers to ensure products align with their evolving needs, helping drive product-market fit quickly.

  • Product Development and Prototyping: Oversee the development of early-stage AI products, working closely with AI researchers, data scientists, UX designers, and engineering teams to bring ideas to life. You will build scalable prototypes and help transition them from experimentation to full-scale R&D.

  • Strategic Experimentation: Create and manage a framework for strategic experimentation. This includes setting up rapid innovation cycles, validating hypotheses, and facilitating a smooth transition from prototypes to production-ready solutions.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across product, engineering, data science, and UX to ensure successful product development and delivery. Foster close relationships with internal stakeholders to keep all teams aligned on product goals.

  • Market Insight and Learning: Continuously learn from customers and the market to refine products and identify new opportunities for AI-driven innovation. Drive product adjustments based on customer feedback and market trends.

  • Scale and Profitability: Ensure that products not only meet customer needs but also scale effectively and are aligned with business objectives, including profitability and operational feasibility.

Desired Experience & Skills:

  • Product Management Leadership: 8+ years of experience in product management, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver innovative products in fast-moving environments.

  • Strong Technical Background: While not a coding role, you should have a deep understanding of AI technologies, particularly generative AI (e.g., large language models, machine learning, and AI-driven search). You'll be expected to engage deeply with the technical aspects of product development and make informed decisions based on a strong technical foundation.

  • Experience with AI Products: Direct experience in developing and scaling AI-powered products, ideally in the generative AI space. A strong understanding of AI concepts is critical for translating customer needs into viable product solutions.

  • Startup Mentality: Proven experience building 0-to-1 products in high-velocity environments, ideally from early-stage prototyping to market-ready solutions. A background as a founder or in startups is highly desirable, as you bring an ability to innovate quickly and solve complex problems at speed.

  • Customer-Centric Approach: A deep commitment to customer success. Strong track record of working directly with customers to understand their needs, iterate on prototypes, and deliver products that solve real-world problems.

  • Cross-functional Leadership: Ability to effectively lead and align teams across product, engineering, design, and research. Experience building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to drive product success.
