Summary

In this position with the Chesler Lab, you will collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and scientists with expertise in statistical genetics and addiction research. You will use your skills to develop, design, and deploy interactive modular visualizations of complex multi-modal data and analytical results. Designing elegant and robust digital experiences that facilitate the discovery process is the core objective.

About Your JAX Internship Experience

As a JAX Intern, you will receive a dedicated mentor in your department and connect with your fellow interns through JAX-sponsored activities.

The desired start and end date for this position is Monday, Jan 6, 2025 - Friday, April 25, 2025.

What You'll Contribute

  • Apply/refine algorithms for visualization of complex multi-modal data
  • Design visualization algorithms that can operate on experimental data and analytical results so scientists can interrogate and explore relationships among data elements while maintaining scientific rigor
  • Apply skills and gain experience in designing digital experiences that are responsive and adaptive
  • Read scientific papers to gain a basic understanding of the biology and analytical methods relevant to the project
  • Work with software engineers to develop algorithms that can be used across JAX systems and data
  • Create visual designs through use of layouts, colors, and illustrations using modern design tools and techniques.
