Job Summary

This position will provide grant writing support to Principal Investigators in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Minimum Qualifications

For full consideration applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position.

  • One year in clinical research administration or similar setting.
  • Experience developing and preparing grant applications in the musculoskeletal health research.
  • Experience working with but not limited to publication of peer reviewed manuscripts, writing reports and grant proposals.
  • Experience with articulating program mission, developing strategies to move the program forward, gathering information and evaluating program performance, developing and implementing policies to ensure successful conduct of research.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to organize time and work appropriately to meet deadlines, to set appropriate priorities and maintain multiple ongoing projects, and to use excellent professional judgement.
  • Effective communication skills to convey knowledge and skills to others in both oral and written form.
  • Skills to anticipate and analyze problems, make sound decisions using good professional judgement and common sense, and identify solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in clinical research administration.
  • Clinical research experience in an emergency setting and/or multi-center research setting, including contract/grant administration and budgeting principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research methodologies used in clinical research, public health, orthopaedic, emergency medicine or epidemiology.
  • Demonstrated skills to lead a team, managing recruitment of qualified personnel, personnel performance and staff development.
  • Knowledge of how to review research proposals and perform pre-award management.

This position is with the UC Davis Health School of Medicine Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, an academic and clinical department, encompassing several sub-specialties, working to achieve excellence in patient care, teaching, research and public service.
