About the Job.

JPI has an exciting opportunity for a Field Materials Coordinator to join our Trades team located in Dallas, TX.

The Field Materials Coordinator will be responsible for the receipt, inventory, care, and issuance of materials required for self-perform trades. The Field Materials Coordinator will foster relationships with key associates across the organization, Trades, and Construction Operations, to ensure the successful completion of deliverables. The position will report to the applicable project's Project Manager.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Materials Buyer:

  • Follows a strict set of guidelines to optimize the materials planning work processes for key material commodities

  • Identifies any "special" or potentially lengthy approval requirements or lead times that could impact the timely delivery of material.

  • Performsthe inbound material receiving processes to ensure that data for material is properly reflected in the inventory/receipt system.

  • Reviews and observes both Safety and Quality daily to ensure field material handling work is performed safely with the final delivery of quality finished goods as a top priority.

  • Monitors, reviews, and reports out the status of inbound materials to ensure an accurate inventory is maintained.

  • Completes materials transactions at the field location to ensure updated information is maintained in downstream applications.

  • Participates in both three week look ahead and 90 day material planning reviews to ensure material is available ahead of the required dates.

  • Collaborates with both Field and Home Office Material Coordinators to establish priorities and highlight where delivery is not meeting schedule.

  • Determines solutions for identified gaps with all relevant functions.

  • Quickly identifies shortage and surplus items and quickly involves required team members to resolve issues.

  • Participates in Construction and Laydown area walk downs to see the progress of work and help resolve material issues with the teams as they are discovered.

Non-essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Assist in development and improvement of execution policy and procedure.

  • Willing to work on jobsites throughout DFW.

Education, Work Experience, & Physical Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science in Accounting, Marketing, General Business, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study is preferred.

  • Previous experience in warehousing or supply chain management in a construction environment is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of material management, vendor relations, and logistics coordination.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
