Job Description and Duties
This advertisement is for a Stationary Engineer, CF position Located at Sierra Conservation Center in Jamestown, Tuolumne County. Please indicate the position number on your application: 099-216-6713-008.

Under general direction of the Chief Engineer I, this position is the 1st Watch Stander of the Boiler Room. The duties of this position are to assume the normal and routine duties of the boiler operations for the Watch being relieved. The duties include, but are not limited to, ordering fuel for the Main and Facility C boilers, operation, repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance (PM) of high-pressure boilers and related equipment. Repairs, services, and performs preventative maintenance to Boiler Room auxiliary equipment, boiler feedwater pumps, electrical motors, high and low pressure steam piping, performs boiler feedwater tests and administers feedwater chemicals as necessary to prevent corrosion and scale to boilers internal parts, steam and condensate pipes and plant auxiliary equipment. This position may also be required to perform work (within the scope of civil service classification Stationary Engineer), as needed by the institution in assisting other maintenance staff or in another area as well as being redirected to the eight Central Camps maintained by Sierra Conservation Center. This may include required overtime, travel and overnight stay at Camps, as needed.

Working Conditions
About this location -- Sierra Conservation Center (SCC) is located in the foothills near Jamestown, California, in the heart of the Mother Lode Gold Country.It is adjacent to the Stanislaus National Forest, offering pine trees, mountain streams, and an abundance of recreational activities (fishing, swimming, camping, skiing, golfing, etc.).The prison is approximately 70 miles from Yosemite National Park.
The primary mission of SCC is to provide housing, programs and services for minimum and medium custody incarcerated individuals, to aid in their rehabilitation. SCC is responsible for the training and placement of male incarcerated individuals in the Conservation Camp Program. SCC administers 31 male camps located throughout California.
