Position Description:


Fay Industries, part of Ryerson family companies, has an opportunity for an Operator position. As an Operator you are responsible for setting up and operating the machine daily to processes parts. This role will also be managing picking and packing parts.

This position is 1st shift. The hours for this position are Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 2:00 pm or 7:00am to 3:00pm.

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Scrap management of remnants and efficient scrap utilization
* Feedstock material inspection to ensure quality specifications, and part inspection to ensure quality specifications
* Calibration of measuring equipment (checking measuring equipment, i.e. tape measures, each day prior to using it in the course of a shift)
* Basic machine maintenance, including assisting maintenance personnel during breakdowns
* Ensuring size, material finish, and accuracy of the finished goods
* Operating a crane and forklift to move material as needed
* Working in a safe manner as outlined during training and use prescribed safety equipment including PPE
* All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice


Position Requirements:


* Some experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting
* Ability to navigate on a computer to find information, enter information when prompted and print as necessary.
* Regular attendance, including being on time and ready to work at assigned start time
* Ability to work assigned overtime, at times with short notice
* Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
