Position Summary:

The Director of Commercial Operations reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and leads the Technical Evaluation and Proposal (TE&P) team, Lead Generation/Inside Sales, while overseeing commercial analytics across RESILIENCE's programs in Biologics, Vaccines, Nucleic Acids, Cell Therapy, and Gene Therapy. This role ensures the effective management of the proposal lifecycle, from client inquiry to proposal delivery, while driving continuous improvement, scalability, and automation within the proposal process. The Director also manages CRM systems (e.g., SFDC) and commercial data, aligning cross-functional teams to support business growth and optimize operations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the TE&P team to deliver accurate, timely proposals that reflect RESILIENCE's technical capabilities.

  • Collaborate with Sales & Business Development (S&BD), Commercial Development (CD), Franchise Heads (FH), and SMEs to define response strategies for client proposals.

  • Manage proposal reviews and approvals across finance, legal, and operations to ensure alignment with client needs and RESILIENCE's capabilities.

  • Optimize CRM, contract generation, and commercial analytics systems to support business needs.

  • Develop and monitor commercial metrics, dashboards, and forecasting to track proposal outcomes, sales, and revenue.

  • Work closely with internal teams to define scope, pricing, and costs for potential customer programs.

  • Ensure alignment across teams and stakeholders throughout the proposal lifecycle.

  • Lead continuous improvements in the proposal development process, incorporating best practices and scalability.

  • Mentor the TE&P team to enhance their skills and manage growing proposal volume.

  • Ensure CRM data integrity and optimal system utilization across commercial teams.

  • Provide insights into opportunity qualification and negotiation strategies for business development.

  • Review and approve all proposals, ensuring accuracy in technical, operational, and financial details.

  • Develop technical content libraries and proposal templates to standardize processes and improve efficiency.

  • Lead the inside sales team in identifying and engaging potential new business opportunities and clients, expanding Resilience's reach within the biopharmaceutical industry.

  • Drive the development of a robust pipeline through targeted outreach efforts, ensuring alignment with Resilience's strategic goals and client needs.

Strategic Support:

  • Partner with Chief Commercial Officer to design, implement and execute commercial strategies that will drive results to achieve AOP and profitability objectives.

  • Contribute to and lead enterprise-level initiatives on continuous improvement of tools and systems, such as CRM platform integrations, to enhance overall organizational integration and productivity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical expertise in drug substance and drug product manufacturing within biologics, vaccines, nucleic acids, cell therapy, and gene therapy sectors.

  • Strong experience in proposal development, workflow management, and technical evaluation within a CDMO environment.

  • Proven ability to manage CRM systems, commercial analytics, and performance metrics.

  • Exceptional project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal teams, leadership, and external clients.

  • Persuasive writing and proposal development experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (e.g., Molecular Biology, Biotechnology) or Business Administration (e.g., MBA).

  • Significant experience working in a Commercial environment either in Sales Operations, Proposal writing, Inside Sales and/or Business Development, ideally within a highly-matrixed CDMO.

  • Strong proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., SFDC) and commercial analytics tools.

  • Experience in biotech sales or commercial operations with client-facing proposal generation experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Our target base pay hiring range for this position is $ - $1,000,000,000.00 per year. Actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's geographical location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.
