We're seeking a Vice President for our Global Communications team who'll lead us into the next phase of our success in the AI-based enterprise software market. In this new role, the successful candidate will lead communications for our Customer360 applications portfolio and manage a team of skilled storytellers. You will also cultivate strong relationships with both external and internal stakeholders. As a highly accomplished professional, you have a proven track record in developing successful earned and owned communications strategies.

In this role, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to our executives and oversee executive communication programs including thought leadership, content creation, and visibility. With a passion for technology PR and a focus on driving real business results, you are a strategic and innovative thinker. Responsibilities:

  • Develop an earned and owned communications strategy that positions Salesforce's leadership in data, AI, CRM, and trust

  • Communication programs to establish us as a leader in AI and data relevance, and articulate our differentiated product strategy to the market

  • Engage with the media as a primary stakeholder by building and maintaining trusted relationships; serve as a spokesperson, as needed

  • Develop annual plans and measures to achieve the objectives of Salesforce and global communications; apply team, agency, and budget resources to deliver excellent results, adapting to external events and environment

  • Collaborate with leaders in marketing and product development to deliver against business goals around our trusted AI advisors and storytellers strategy

  • Continually innovate the way we do product communications, including with the use of technology - seek and embrace best practices

  • Oversee the professional development and advancement of the team - identify and create learning opportunities for team members

  • Champion a diverse and inclusive culture

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in public relations/external communications, specifically in enterprise software, with a proven ability to develop and lead communications programs that drive significant awareness and measurable results

  • 10+ years of successful managerial experience, including exceptional leadership skills to set a positive tone, manage, inspire, and develop a world-class team aligned with core values

  • Experience driving alignment and refining owned content - from announcements to thought leadership to Op-Eds - in close partnership with senior leaders and technologists

  • Partner with technical leaders, understand complex technical stories, and make them relevant for a broad audience

  • Ability to influence senior executives, providing strategic counsel and executive comms support

  • Strong track record of collaborating with cross-functional and agency teams to deliver results in a fast-paced environment

  • Collaborate with product marketing leaders to craft narratives for Customer360 applications that resonate in the market and inspire the industry to think big and act

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring, Salesforce will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $219,400 to $351,000. For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $239,300 to $382,900. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
