Work Schedule and Hours
Regular work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work required. Work schedules must be flexible due to the changes in the recruiting cycle and the academic year, i.e.,
1) during the travel seasons in the fall and the spring,
2) prior to and during regular registration periods,
3) follow-up activities such as telephone contacts during evening hours,
4) visitation programs scheduled on weekends throughout the year and outreach programs scheduled in the public and private schools during evening hours.

Position Summary
This position works with the Director of Analytics & Systems on the maintenance, innovation, development and improvement of CRM solutions used in all facets of Admission and Financial Aid, specifically undergraduate and graduate admissions (recruitment, operations, communications, and customer service) and other departments responsible for recruiting undergraduate and graduate students.
The Associate Director supports the Director of Admission and Financial Aid Analytics & Systems to maintain and enhance the University's CRM and responsibility steward all prospective student data. The Associate Director is considered a leadership partner within the team and may be responsible for: support of transfer or international students, strengthening institutional relationships through both new and existing MOUs, working with current students and alumni volunteers, access/success programming, CBO outreach, social media and technology initiatives, admission event planning, data management, athletic/arts recruitment, visit team, scholarship programs, or communication initiatives particularly as their processes and workflows integrate with the CRM.
The Associate Director is responsible for understanding, maintaining, and developing CRM solutions and associated workflows. The Associate Director facilitates training sessions in the effective and creative uses of the CRM. This position promotes positive customer relationships by equipping constituents with the necessary tools and information required for their task/role.
The Associate Director will be responsible for supporting the creation and distribution of a myriad of reports within the CRM to help project enrollment and inform strategic enrollment decisions.
In addition to the above, this Associate Director carries minimal territory management responsibilities and focuses on International and tertiary markets. The Associate Director is responsible for supporting all recruitment and communication activities in order to meet the university enrollment goals, including counseling, recruiting, and evaluating prospective students who express interest in UNC Asheville for their territories. All of these actions require interpersonal, computer and organizational skills.
Supported by leadership, the Associate Director will implement and deliver outreach initiatives to increase awareness of UNC Asheville among prospective students, families, mentors and education partners.

Required Education/Experience/Skills
A Master's Degree is preferred but may also consider a Bachelor's with significant relevant experience. Outstanding public speaking, oral and written skills, excellent computer skills, outstanding customer service skills and a valid driver's license are required.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
A Master's Degree. Four to six years of demonstrated success in working with a team to recruit a highly qualified class that meets/exceeds enrollment goals. A commitment to fostering collaborative culture. Familiarity with Slate (Technolutions) and the UNC System is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The individual in this position must effectively demonstrate knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Knowledge and capacity to navigate and identify system architecture in Technolutions Slate (CRM).
  • Familiarity with Banner or other student information systems, and systems data mapping and configuration.
  • Ability to create logic driven reporting in a complex highly secure data environment.
  • Ability to manage databases and knowledge transfers.
  • Thorough knowledge of secondary and post-secondary education. Attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication.
  • The to effectively manage data and write reports
  • Strong public speaking and relationship-building skills. High emotional intelligence.
  • The ability to independently envision, organize, and execute successful event programming.
  • The ability to independently organize workflow and make sound decisions. The ability to work with various campus partners, from alumni to trustees, to advance the University's mission.
