This position is located in Brandon, South Dakota

1st Shift Monday - Thursday 5am - 3:30pm, Some Friday hours may be required

Summary/Objective:

This position will perform duties required to meet production demands. This will include set-up and operating various CNC machines, laser machines, in-process inspection and cleaning operations required in the manufacturing of steel fabrication for custom trailer and hitch products. This position will report to Operations Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend to and operate machines
  • Clean parts, touch up parts, and may require re-work of parts
  • Read and interpret written instruction
  • Complete appropriate paperwork, log sheets, forms, charts and quality assessments
  • Communicate with and assist other co-workers in the area
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by lead
  • Follow all safety precautions and use protective equipment as required
  • Measure product to production specifications
  • Maintain and follow good housekeeping standards to meet company objectives
  • Perform routine quality checks, both written and oral
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Computer Skills Basic computer skills necessary
  • Organization Skills: Maintain clean and organized work space.
  • Cross-functional skills: Ability to work and handle multiple job assignments
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate within a team setting
  • Physical, Mental and Visual Skills: Ability to lift, bend, and twist throughout the workday, ability to lift between 50 to 100 pounds
  • Physical Environment: Fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Requirements:

  • Education: Associates Degree in Metal Fabrication/CNC Machining
  • Work Experience: 3 years of CNC or laser related field experience

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The Team Member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time hourly position working a minimum of 40 hours a week. Days are set to the schedule of which you elect with your hiring leader.

Travel:

No travel required.
