Boston Children's Hospital Dept. of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is recruiting for a licensed LICSW clinical social worker to work both within our community primary care clinic at Martha Eliot Health Center (MEHC) @ Jamaica Plain, as well as within Outpatient Psychiatry Services at Boston Children's Hospital Longwood. This is an opportunity to provide brief mental health treatment to children and adolescents in a busy community health center serving a culturally diverse population.

This Bridges Social Worker will be responsible for:

  • Working with youth ages 5 to 17 years old within Outpatient Psychiatry for ongoing therapy in a multidisciplinary clinical setting with an emphasis on evidenced based practice interventions.
  • Offering psychosocial support and resources to families, reducing caregiver stress and improving overall family well-being
  • Performing diagnostic evaluations and provide ongoing individual and group psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and families
  • Providing comprehensive case management services, including coordination of care among various healthcare providers
  • Assisting with a walk-in clinic providing crisis assessments, referrals, access, and brief treatment interventions.
  • Working well within a multidisciplinary team and working in close collaboration with primary care in an integrated care model.
  • Facilitating access to community resources, educational supports
  • Enhancing the effectiveness of the multidisciplinary team by ensuring that social determinants of health are addressed as part of the treatment plan
  • Supporting training and education initiatives related to management of high risk behavioral health concerns, specifically in historically marginalized populations
  • Leadership role within an inter-disciplinary team on program development initiatives at MEHC.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, and LICSW licensure in MA
  • Strong clinical skills and experience with various therapeutic modalities is required as well as the ability to provide trauma informed care.
  • Excellent communication skills, flexibility, team-oriented attitude, and ability to work in fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Persons from diverse background encouraged to apply, Spanish language skills highly preferred
