Position Summary |
The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for developing and executing strategies to secure funding from corporate and foundation partners. This role will involve identifying potential partners, cultivating relationships, preparing grant proposals, and ensuring effective stewardship of received funds. The Director will work collaboratively with university leadership, faculty, and staff to align fundraising efforts with the university's strategic goals and priorities.
We are looking for someone who will be an effective relationship builder and storyteller and who can bring our mission to life through strong presentations, communication, and grant proposals that inspire investment and build a pipeline of corporate philanthropy and foundation funding.
Working collaboratively with the Leadership Team, the Director of Corporate and Foundations Relations will be responsible for achieving revenue goals of nearly $600K in grants and $2M in support.
This individual must be able to work both independently and collaboratively, with a talent for building strong and productive relationships. |

Required Education/Experience/Skills |
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, corporate and foundation relations, or a related field, preferably within a higher education setting.
- Proven track record of securing significant funding from corporate and foundation partners. Awareness of major funders and local, state, and national grant procedures and a proven history of building and maintaining professional relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- At least two (2) years of experience in grant writing or a related position. Familiarity with grant management processes and requirements.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems and other fundraising tools and technologies.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with potential and current funders.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills |
- Master's degree preferred.
- Six (6) or more years of successful experience in higher education fundraising.
- Experience working on successful comprehensive university fundraising campaigns.
- Proficiency in database management; experience with Blackbaud products (RE NXT) preferred.
- Organized, enthusiastic, efficient, and committed personality able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Attention to detail balanced with the ability to recognize the larger picture in relation to program/organizational trends.
- Self-starter who can manage multiple, competing deadlines and has a desire to be a part of an innovative, fast-paced organization and development department.
