Mechanic/Fabricator/Upfitter Technician

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabrication/Upfitting Technician to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of components and accessories on trucks. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, precision, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Fabrication and Assembly:
    • Perform welding, cutting, and shaping of metal components.
    • Assemble and install truck bodies, platforms, and other structural components.
    • Customize and modify trucks according to client specifications and industry standards.
  2. Installation:
    • Install electrical systems, lighting, and other accessories.
    • Mount and secure equipment such as truck bodies, platforms, service bodies, cranes, snowplows, lift gates, salt spreaders, warning lights, and hydraulic systems.
    • Ensure all installations are safe, functional, and meet quality standards.
  3. Quality Control:
    • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company and client specifications.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or defects.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time and materials used.
    • Communicate with supervisors and team members about project progress and any issues that arise.
    • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in welding, fabrication, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in truck fabrication, upfitting, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in welding (MIG, TIG, stick) and metalworking techniques.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of automotive systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and working in various positions.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Additional Information:
  • 7am-3:30pm Monday- Friday
  • $19-$20/hour
