Position Summary

Performs accounts payable, accounting and other administrative functions within the Accounts Payable group to ensure that vendor invoices are received, processed, and posted to SAP in a timely manner. Collaborates with internal and external customers to answer questions regarding paid and unpaid invoices.

Tasks and Responsibilities

* Analyzes and reconciles A/P related general ledger accounts.

* Executes weekly aging report of outstanding invoices and distributes to A/P processors.

* Executes monthly statistical reports and distributes to business areas.

* Analyzes and maintains the list of vendors that are subject to IRS Form 1099-MISC reporting.

* Files IRS Form 1099-MISC records transmittal with IRS.

* Analyzes and executes SAP Regular, Wire, ACH, SUA, and NPO payment runs.

* Analyzes and reports P-Card data to Financial Services leaders.

* Analyzes and processes POV Mileage Reimbursement files.

* Prepares, as needed, responses to PBCs and RFIs related to the external audit.

* Participates in testing of SAP changes related to year-end support packs.

* Assists management with research of unpaid invoices that have been parked for more than 30 days.

* Documents procedures related to SAP changes.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Accountant/analyst experience in a field supporting and providing technical and analytical solutions.
Knowledge of accounting/analyst experience in a field supporting and providing financial and operational solutions.
Relative experiences in financial/project management for Operational Units.
Understands processes and procedures in specialized field.
Initiative to work independently or as a member of a team, coordinating with others to achieve desired results.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for interaction with all levels of personnel.
Ability to meet goals and objectives with minimal direct supervision.
Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to make recommendations and independent decisions.
High level of accuracy of work and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work in a team environment, coordinating with other areas to achieve goals and objectives.
Ability to work in a variety of locations such as the field, construction centers and the main office.
Ability to identify alternative solutions for development of decision-making proposals, which support organizational goals/objectives and budget constraints
Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or relevant Certification.
  • Extensive experience as an accountant/analyst or in a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in SAP, PeopleSoft, or Hyperion.
  • Relative experience in supporting the electric or gas utility industry.

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with concentration in Finance, Accounting, Auditing or related field from an accredited university.
Required Certifications
Working Environment
Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business related events.
Physical Demands
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
