SUMMARY: This Riceboro Safety Leader role reporting to the Riceboro Safety Manager works in close partnership to emphasizes leadership, regulatory compliance, incident management, contract security oversight, and safety program development. The role collaborates closely with the Safety Superintendent team, manages the site's emergency response team program, and is an essential partner in the implementation of robust safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of safety regulations, a desire for professional growth, and a proven track record in industrial safety management. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the safety team, including Safety Superintendents and the site's emergency response team program. Foster a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant safety regulations and ensure the plant's operations comply with all applicable laws, standards, and guidelines. Develop and implement strategies to address any regulatory changes. Incident Management: Lead the investigation and analysis of safety incidents, near misses, and accidents. Develop corrective actions and preventative measures to mitigate future risks. Ensure thorough documentation and reporting of all incidents. Contract Security Oversight: Collaborate with security contractors to ensure the safety and security of the plant premises. Review and assess security protocols and procedures to identify areas for improvement. Safety Program Development: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and initiatives. Regularly assess the effectiveness of existing programs and recommend enhancements as needed. Training and Development: Coordinate safety training programs for employees at all levels of the organization. Ensure that training materials are up-to-date and relevant to the plant's operations. Emergency Response Planning: Oversee the site's emergency response team program, including training, drills, and preparedness exercises. Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services to ensure effective response protocols. RequirementsEducation Level Bachelor's Degree Education Details In Health and Safety, Engineering, or Science-Related field Required/ Preferred Preferred Work Experience 4-6 years Experience Details Environmental, Health, Safety, or Closely Related Role Required/ Preferred Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Familiarity with federal and state safety & security regulatory requirements Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities and deadlines Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a dynamic team Detail-oriented, able to adhere to deadlines, and have strong technical, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to interface with both external and internal clients.
