Position Overview:
Are you passionate about biology, microbiology, or anatomy and physiology? Do you excel in these subjects and find joy in helping others understand them? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking for dedicated college students with a strong interest in biology-related courses to join our Science Learning Center team as a student course mentor/tutor. In this role, you will play a vital role in creating a collaborative learning environment and supporting fellow students on their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct one-on-one and group tutoring sessions for biology, microbiology, or anatomy and physiology courses.
- Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic success.
- Assist students in comprehending challenging concepts through engaging and interactive teaching methods.
- Collaborate with faculty and fellow Learning Coaches to enhance the overall learning experience.
- Provide constructive feedback to students, empowering them to overcome obstacles and thrive.
- Stay informed about course content and instructional techniques to deliver effective support.



Qualifications:
- Enthusiasm for biology, microbiology, or anatomy and physiology, with a solid grasp of related coursework.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to explain complex ideas clearly and accessibly.
- Strong organizational and time management aptitude.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is beneficial but not required.
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

This is a NON-Federal Work Study position.

Stark State College utilizes E-Verify to ensure compliance with applicable employment eligibility laws. E-Verify is an electronic system used to confirm the employment eligibility of new hires.
