Summary The Project Manager manages this US Greenfield project. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of project on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of project. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project. The position reports directly to the Plant Manager of the Manufacturing business unit with matrix reporting into the Leadership team in the Americas. Individual must be able to work in a global company with the ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization. Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Determine and define project scope and objectives
- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
- Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
- Track project costs in order to meet budget
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and resources
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
- Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
- Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
- Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed and actively work to improve our safety program
- Ensure all quality procedures are followed and actively work to improve our quality program
- Follow all procedures and work instructions
- Work to maintain a clean and organized working environment (5S)
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science/technology, business, or a related field
- Minimum 1-3 years of project management and related experience
- 6+ years of broad general business experience and knowledge across many disciplines (P&L Management, Program Management, Business Process, Business Transformation)
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively
- Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
- Experience seeing projects through the full lifecycle
- Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
- Manufacturing (Lean and Six Sigma) and supply chain experience preferred
- ERP/MRP/IT implementation experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
- Must be able to work in the US
