Overview:

Veeco's Somerset, NJ location is looking for a Material Handler. This warehouse position involves the timely and accurate reporting of materials movements that transpire daily. This position may include the complete set of transaction activities: picking/staging for sales orders and service depot locations; picking components for production work orders; picking/staging materials for movement to Contract Manufacturers; Receiving Vendor Materials; Receiving Customer RMA returns / Vendor repair returns; issuing materials to Engineering to support Engineering projects or to replenish lab supplies. Pick, pack and ship material in a manner that is safe and accurate for transport both domestically and internationally. This role also includes involvement in both daily cycle counting and other periodic physical inventory activities.

Responsibilities:



  • Support the Inventory and Warehouse policies and procedures currently in place (warehouse security, daily warehouse processing, and fiscal period cutoffs).
  • Post inventory transactions daily into SAP in adherence to defined warehouse procedures and work instructions.
  • Organize, pick, pack, ship and transport material.
  • Work in concert with other Operations personnel to support the responsive environment required by Operations.
  • Participate in Warehouse 5S - Workplace Organization initiative to drive towards a safer, cleaner and more-organized warehouse environment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of material to allow time for accurate handling and assembly of material.
  • Ensure all necessary information of documents are correct to avoid errors in material processing.
  • Light assembly work as needed.
  • Remain flexible and be available to shift into multiple areas of the operation for the purpose of providing support when business shift.
  • Perform daily assigned cycle counts in support of maintaining a World Class Inventory percentage of 99.9%
  • Operate machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand tools, vent hoods and wash sinks.
  • Ensure safety is top priority.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • General housekeeping duties in the Warehouse area as assigned.



Qualifications:

Typically requires a minimum of 1 - 2 years of related experience. Highschool diploma or GED required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Must be computer proficient, with prior experience in performing inventory transactions in a computer-based business system.
  • Knowledge of inventory controls or related experience in a managed inventory environment required SAP.
  • Detail orientated and ability to work efficiently and in an organized manner.


The expected salary range for this position is $31,952.00 - $40,472.85, plus bonus opportunity. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
