We seek a qualified Junior Engineer Architect to join our Dahlgren, VA team.

Position Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Mission Architect to support digital modeling of Navy missions, Navy warfare scenarios, and analysis of Navy warfighting operations. Once hired, the new team member will support the development and sustainment of mission-level modeling and simulation products with documented pedigree and the production of mission engineering requirements, architectures, and analysis, all emphasizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes and tools.

MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE AND BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE AN INTERIM TOP SECRET CLEARANCE IN A TIMELY MANNER

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide systems engineering in support of Naval combat and C2 systems for future, new construction, and in-service ships, including all technical processes and technical management processes.
  • Develop operational scenarios and mission threads utilizing a combination of architecture tools and MS Office products.
  • Evaluate and provide comments and recommendations to naval combat and C2 system requirements and interfaces to translate into requirements and design for modeling and simulation systems and virtualized environments.
  • Evaluate designs, identify technical issues and associated recommendations, and conduct engineering performance studies and analyses on all aspects of combat system improvements
  • Participate in test events, including preparation, execution, and report generation
  • Create integrated architectures using a combination of UML, SysML, UPDM, and UAF in MagicDraw and other integrated architecture tools.
  • Provide systems engineering support in developing next-generation warfare through requirements engineering, architectural design, and initial design for advanced integration concepts.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science field, or one (1) year of professional experience in engineering or science.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Familiarity and experience working with Navy radars, electro-optical and infrared sensors, guns, missiles, electronic warfare, and other warfare systems.
  • Experience working in and with Integrated Product Teams.
  • Understanding the Acquisition lifecycle and the ability to apply to smaller acquisition efforts.
  • Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), system architectures, and tools like CORE, MagicDraw, and DOORs.
  • Knowledge of at least one programming language.

Travel Requirements:

  • Telework eligible - but must be able to be on-site at NAWC Pax River or NSWC Dahlgren for customer engagements and classified system processing
  • Potential travel up to 25% in San Diego, CA, Fallon, NV, Hawaii, Guam, Japan, and other Navy concentration areas.
