About Ameren Missouri Ameren Missouri has been providing electric and gas service for more than 100 years, and our electric rates are among the lowest in the nation. Ameren Missouri's mission is to power the quality of life for our 1.2 million electric and 132,000 natural gas customers in central and eastern Missouri. Our service area covers 64 counties and more than 500 communities including the greater St. Louis area. About The Position The Electrical Engineer (EE) is responsible for overall Electrical Engineering related to the execution of projects for new natural gas combined cycle (NGCC) and simple cycle gas turbine (SC) energy centers for Ameren Missouri. In addition, this role may require support for projects at other existing or new Power Operations Generation facilities including fossil, gas, hydro, renewable, This role includes providing technical expertise in Electrical Engineering (with specialization in heavy power, high / medium / low voltage design, T&D, or combination thereof) to help lead project development in association with Ameren Power Operations and Company-wide design and project management requirements. The Electrical Engineer will report to the Supervising Engineer - Combined Cycle Project Execution. Key responsibilities include:
Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university is required. Five or more years of power and / or EE design engineering experience for Power Generation facilities in the applicable areas listed under "Key Responsibilities" is preferred. Experience with combined cycle plants, gas turbines, turbomachinery, steam generators or other energy center mechanical or environmental systems preferred. Experience with large project execution preferred. A Missouri Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required. Essential Functions Time spent on site during construction and start-up will be required. This will include exposure to heat and cold temperatures, vicinity to high energy equipment (electrical, controlled combustion, etc), dust, safe use of electrical / other PPE, and climbing of ladders and steps. Employing safe work practices at all times is a must. Travel to and from outside engineer, vendor, and contractor offices will be required (including overnight and international travel at times) for design reviews, factory acceptance test witnessing, and engineering quality inspections. In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Must have demonstrated excellent engineering design, analytical, communications, flexibility, and human relations skills.
