As a Lead Payroll Analyst your goal is to oversee payroll operations ensuring accuracy, compliance and timeliness for all payroll cycles. You're responsible for processing payroll, handling garnishments, ensuring taxes are processed through the vendor and maintaining compliance with internal guidelines and all federal, state and local regulations. You will do this by:
- Overseeing the end-to-end payroll process for multiple semi-monthly and weekly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensuring timely and accurate processing of garnishments, including child support, tax levies, and other court-ordered deductions, in compliance with legal requirements.
- Ensuring specific compliance requirements are administered timely including but not limited to: DOL, IRS, FLSA, Federal & State regulations, company policy, direct deposit, W-4, Sarbanes Oxley audit, internal procedures and record retention.
- Overseeing quarter-end and year-end balancing, adjustments, and taxes. Monitoring the vendor's ongoing tax filings, and ensuring the timely preparation for W-2 rollout and filings annually.
- Conducting audits of payroll processes and records to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, while identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Delivering consistent customer service by promptly addressing employee inquiries and resolving any payroll-related discrepancies.
- Completing internal and external reports to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements, and generates ad hoc reports for various departments.
- Collaborating with the HRIS team to enhance payroll systems, identify process improvements and ensure efficient workflows.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to junior payroll team members. Serving as a subject matter expert in payroll policies, practices, and systems.
- Leading and participating in the implementation of new procedures, projects and process improvements driven by business changes, operational requirements, strategic initiatives, and legal requirements.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field OR equivalent experience and education
- Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in payroll processing, including experience with multi-state payrolls, garnishments, and tax reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in payroll software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) strongly preferred
- Affiliation with payroll association(s)
- Experience working with Dayforce and/or UKG software strongly preferred
Additional Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
- Thorough understanding of federal and state payroll regulations, tax laws and garnishment rules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities/projects.
- Accurate data entry skills and strong math aptitude.
- Ability to isolate and resolve problems within fixed time frames in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
