DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In the absence of the Senior Center Operator, the substitute Senior Center Operator 1 will oversee duties such as serving meals, notifying the office of meal counts for the next day of operation, and recording attendance. The substitute will also oversee recreational activities at the Senior Center.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Part-time employment - Substitute (Call-in position).
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with additional hours during special events.
- Locations and Days of Operation: (vary as needed)
- Coudersport Senior Center - Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
- Galeton Senior Center - Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
- Oswayo Valley Senior Center - (located in Shinglehouse, PA) - Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
- Ulysses Senior Center - Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
- The substitute must be able to lift 50 lbs. if necessary.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human services, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Potter County. If no eligible candidates who live within Potter County apply for this position, candidates who reside in McKean, Tioga, Cameron, Elk, Clinton or Lycoming counties will be considered. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties will be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
