Position Summary
**WE ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION FROM ALL STUDENTS REGARDLESS OF WORK STUDY AWARD** Academic Technologies is seeking responsible, self-motivated students that demonstrate leadership, aptitude, initiative, and assertiveness to provide assistance and training on a wide variety of technology to students, faculty, and staff in classrooms across campus. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent customer service skills and an interest in technology support, customer service, and teaching. This position provides support for walk in requests, over the phone, and within the Help.UNM system. Must possess the ability to work independently, organize time efficiently, and to communicate professionally with faculty, staff, and students. Applicants should be able to take the initiative to solve problems on their own as well as request help as needed. Applicants may be asked to participate in projects, which may include technology testing, maintenance, or deployment of new computer environments. Duties and responsibilities include:
- Provides
technical support and training for technology in classrooms and computer pods. - Routine
maintenance and testing of classroom technology. - Provide
immediate response to requests from both walk in and phone calls. - Troubleshooting
software and hardware issues including resolving and triaging issues in the help system. - Proficient in
basic clerical skills and willing to use work time to learn and expand one's knowledge. - May be
expected to perform administrative tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience
in customer service. - Ability
to work in a team environment. - Experience
supporting computers or AV systems. - Ability
to work with faculty and teaching assistants. - Ability
to troubleshoot PC hardware and software issues. - Ability to
troubleshoot classroom AV systems. - Prior experience in a similar capacity at another
department or institution.
