The Opportunity:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) English Department is seeking qualified candidates for an Administrative Assistant I position. The Administrative Assistant I will serve as the contact person for the Chair's office and will assist the Chair with schedules, memos, and visitors.

Responsibilities:


  • Input data for faculty annual evaluations, department annual reports, and

  • FTE reports.

  • Gather data for faculty to support awards applications.

  • Assist with the day-to-day clerical activities of the English Department's administrative

  • office.

  • Opening and closing the office.

  • Staffing the front desk.

  • Scheduling appointments.

  • Making room reservations.

  • Serving as department web liaison.

  • Copying, scanning, and shredding document.

  • Maintaining and archiving files.

  • Creating documents and excel spreadsheets.

  • Posting class and office hour cancellations signs.

  • Delivering and sorting on-campus mail.

  • Serve as the departmental liaison for travel and procurement and human

  • resources, department property custodian, and IT/copier service liaison.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work appropriately and independently on a daily basis.

  • Previous office experience in a higher education setting.
