Your Impact
In this role you will be responsible for driving complex and confidential investigations to closure through proactive detection, investigative and interviewing experience.
You will conduct interviews, clearly and concisely write reports, and provide recommendations to leadership on mitigation. Your day-to-day will include both hands-on usage of technical tools, as well as working closely with legal, security operations and HR to drive cases to resolution and close technical gaps. You'll be tasked with successfully driving insider risk cases to conclusion, including detecting, interviewing, and mitigating/remediating potential issues.
You will build relationships with stakeholders across the firm and become a trusted partner to continually improve the firm's ability to prevent, detect, and respond to insider threats.
Your Growth
You will work within the firm's Insider Risk function to conduct complex and confidential investigations into incidents of data loss and intellectual property theft.
Partnering with and reporting into the Senior Manager, Insider Risk, as the Insider Risk Investigations Specialist you will work closely with HR, Legal, and technical teams to detect and respond to potential insider threat activity.
Your qualifications and skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in conducting investigations and supporting a global program
  • Experience engaging with and providing written and verbal findings and recommendations to leadership on complex technical investigations related to insider risk
  • Demonstrated expertise in investigative analysis, including signal from a wide range of security tooling, correlation of logs from multiple data sources and review of forensic/endpoint artifacts
  • Preferred hands-on experience with data loss prevention and insider threat tools
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies in order to further organizational goals
  • Ability to deliver results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain the highest professional standards regarding personal conduct while performing work

For new joiners for this role in Canada and/or the United States, including all office locations where the job may be performed, a reasonable estimated range is $112,900 - $176,800 in USD and $125,600 - $157,000 in CAD - to help you understand what you can expect. This reflects our best estimate of the lowest to highest salary for this role at the time of this posting, ensuring you have a clear picture right from the start, though it's important to remember that actual salaries may vary. Factors like your office location, your unique blend of experience and skills, start date and our current organizational needs all play a part in determining the final figure. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to McKinsey's discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance.
